Sawatdee Kaa ! (Hello = Thai)
We wanted to send a quick update and a request for prayer! We have departed from India and are now in Chi.ang R.ai, Thail.and. We are working in a children’s home here and greatly enjoying the fellowship here. As many of you know due to the latest news, Ban.gkok has had a lot of political unrest and the situation seems to be escalating since we’ve arrived. Our province has just been issued as a being in a “state of emergency” and we request your prayer while we are here. We are praying heavily about the situation and pray for peace for the entire country. The riots and demonstrations have now spread to Chi.ang M.ai which is our neighboring province. The U.S. embassy has encouraged all U.S. citizens to defer travel to Thai.land and these areas unless necessary. Our hosts are going to translate the local news for us today so we can have a better understanding of what’s going on and how our area is affected. We will send more information when we know!
The children’s home here is an amazing place that we have truly enjoyed working with so far. The family who runs this home care and love each of the 60 kids living here as if they were their own kids. We have already begun wonderful relationships with the youth here and it is a joy to be together even though we do not speak the same language. Pantomime is a wonderful thing! We are excited about our time here and look forward to what God will do!
Please continue in your prayers for us especially due to this new unfortunate situation. We want our last 2 weeks here to be effective and strong but also want to take the situation seriously. Thank you all for your prayers!
